The Prelate of the Christ Army Church Nigeria (CACN) and Visitor to Triune College of Theology, Most Rev. Dappa Opubo Abbey, says the institution is set to expand its academic programmes to the degree level following the successful graduation of its pioneer certificate students.
Speaking with journalists during the maiden matriculation and convocation ceremony held on Thursday at the college’s temporary campus at St. John’s Metropolitan Cathedral, Okrika, Abbey described the graduation as a historic milestone in the college’s journey toward becoming a fully-fledged theological institution.
He expressed confidence that the college would soon commence Higher Diploma programmes before advancing to the award of Bachelor of Arts degrees in Theology.
The Prelate said the college, inaugurated in 2025, has moved from its foundation stage to producing its first graduates while simultaneously admitting a new batch of students.
He noted that the institution was established to raise spiritually sound and academically equipped ministers who would strengthen the church and advance the Christian faith.
Also speaking, the Provost, Ven. Dr. Joseph B. Johngbo, said the college had overcome the initial challenges associated with its establishment through God’s grace and the commitment of the church’s leadership and other stakeholders.
He described the graduation of the pioneer students as a major achievement that reflects the institution’s steady growth and readiness for greater academic development.
Both the Prelate and the Provost commended members of staff and supporters for their dedication to the college’s progress. They also said the event’s theme, “Not Limited by Time, But Trailblazers,” underscored the belief that God is not constrained by time and can elevate faithful individuals and institutions to fulfil their divine purpose.
