Nigeria’s Super Falcons on Monday recorded a convincing 3-0 victory over Senegal in the second leg match of their international friendly double-header at the Remo Stars stadium, Ikenne, Ogun.

The victory completed a clean sweep for the African champions, following their 2-1 win over the Teranga Lionesses in the first encounter played on Friday.

The performance has boosted the confidence of the Head Coach, Justin Madugu, and his squad as preparations intensify for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.

The Super Falcons dominated possession and created scoring chances throughout the match but were initially frustrated by Senegal’s disciplined defensive display in the first half.

The breakthrough eventually came four minutes after the restart when Joy Omewa connected with a well-delivered cross from Shukurat Oladipo to give the Super Falcons a deserved lead.

Omewa doubled Nigeria’s advantage in the 56th minute, showing composure and sharp movement inside the penalty area to complete her brace and put the hosts firmly in control.

The visitors struggled to respond as the Super Falcons maintained their attacking momentum and continued to dictate the pace of the game.

Prolific striker, Asisat Oshoala added the third goal in the 66th minute, calmly finishing from a pass by captain, Rasheedat Ajibade, shortly after coming on as a substitute.

The goal was Oshoala’s second of the two-match series, having also scored in Nigeria’s 2-1 victory over Senegal in the first friendly.

The Super Falcons comfortably saw out the remainder of the encounter to secure an impressive clean sheet and maintain their winning momentum ahead of the continental championship.(NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
