Nigerian artistes Davido, Falz and other celebrities across Nigeria have celebrated Arsenal’s historic English Premier League(EPL) title win after 22 years.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the title confirmation was triggered by Manchester City’s draw at Bournemouth on Monday.

The historic win has sent fans and celebrities into an absolute frenzy, triggering massive reactions from Nigerian entertainment icons and political figures on social media.

Davido led the pack by announcing his return to the fan base with a post on his X PAGE; “BACK A GUNNER!!!.

However, the declaration immediately drew light-hearted mockery from rival football fans who questioned his long silence during the club’s years of drought.

Other celebrities who flooded social media with posts following the long-awaited triumph include Falz, Seun Kuti, Tiwa Savage and Banky W.

Singer Timi Dakolo also celebrated Arsenal’s first league trophy since their legendary “Invincibles” season in 2004.

Beyond the entertainment circle, political elites within and outside Nigeria joined the historic celebration.

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar congratulated the club, delivering a statement centred on the values of resilience and discipline.

Also, former Gov. Rauf Aregbesola celebrated the milestone on his X handle, writing: “Twenty-two years in the making! What a time to be alive. Congratulations.”

The result left City four points behind Arsenal with only one game remaining, rendering them unable to catch Mikel Arteta’s relentless squad. (NAN)
