Nigerian-Italian artiste, Charles Onyeabor, performed as the sole opening act for one of America’s biggest hip-hop acts, Offset, at an exclusive concert in Florence, Italy.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the development reflects the increasing global recognition of emerging African talents with cross-cultural identities.

Onyeabor’s appearance on the lineup placed him on the same stage with offset, highlighting the growing acceptance of African-influenced sounds in mainstream global music circuits.

“This opportunity shows that African artistes with diverse cultural backgrounds are gaining more global visibility,” Onyeabor said.

“It is a privilege to share the stage with one of America’s biggest rappers, and it reflects how far African music has travelled,” he added.

The performance also gives a shift in global music dynamics, where collaborations and shared stages between African and Western artistes are becoming more frequent.

Born to Nigerian parents and raised in Italy, Onyeabor represents a new wave of musicians blending African rhythm with European influences.

Sharing the stage with Offset marks a significant career moment, while reinforcing the broader trend of African talent gaining global relevance. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
